Causes of insolvency — losses in business, and general depression in the state of trade. — Macdonald and Russell, solicitors, Invercargill. Heshy Boyle Moxkman, auctioneer and estate agent, Invercargill.— Debts, L 1983 17s 4d; assets, including real and personal estate, L 1827 5s 6d; deficiency, L 156 12s. Causes of insolvency — losses in business, depression in the value of freehold and leasehold property, and geaeral depression in business.
The " New Zealander," in reference to the navigation of the Waikato river, says :—": — " A launch took place last week at the building yards of Mr Hutchison, Onehunga. The barge launched is about 58 feet in length, 15 feet beam, and 4 feet depth of bold. She has been built for Messrs Gibbons and Co., and is intended for service on the Waikato river. The keels of two other barges of about 60 feet have been laid by Mr Hutchison, one of which is for Mr Scherf of Waikato, and the others for Capts. Turner and Souter. A large schooner and cutter are also in course^ of construction."
