DUNEDIN PRODUCE REPORT.

August 11th, 1864. The sowing of wheat progresses satisfactorily, and that grain, grasses, and potatoes, are in demand for seed. A considerable quantity of new land has been broken up for wheat, and what with that grain, potatoes, and the great breadth of oats to be sown this year, the farmers will have a busy time. The feeling in oats has somewhat improved, stocks of imported being reduced, and none coming in. It is understood that there are considerable quantities in stack, but they nre in the hands of farmers who are able to await a favorable gchange in the market, either upcountry or in town. Barlbt.— The stock is low, but demand is quite limited. We quote at ss. Crushed is worth 5s 6d. Bran.— Small lots bring Is 8d to Is 9d. Carrots.— £4 to £7 per ton. Chaff.— Supply equal to demand. We quote £6 to £7. Gram.— Little or none in market. Price £16. Hay.— The market is well supplied with hay of the best quality, chiefly from Green Island and the Taieri, which sells at £7 to £8 per ton. Maize.— The market is still quite bare. Small lots are worth 6s 9d to 7s. Oats. — New crop, in large quantities, 4s to 4s 3d. Good Californian, 4s to 4s 3d. Scotch, nominal. The market is now bare of Colonial, Onions have advanced to £20 and £22 from the ship, which will make them cost the buyer something like £25 to £26 before they can b« picked. Potatoes. — There has been a demand during the week for good samples for seed, but as yet the price has not advanced. Indeed, it may almost be quoted at 10s per ton less, Turnips.— £4 to £6 per ton. Wheat .—So few transactions are taking piece, that it is difficult to quote a price.
