July Ist, 1864. me supply of vegetables has been pretty fair during the 'last week. A lot of cabbages from Melbourne met with ready sale, and this vegetable is now becoming scarce again. There has been a good supply of imported eggs— chiefly from Adelaide, and the price is not now quite so iiigh as it was a short time since. The supply of apples is , now somewhat better. A lot of oranges arrived from Sydney iv very bad condition, and this fruit is not very plentiful. The aupply 01 fish has-been rather good. Flounders are not so plentiful in their old haunts, and fishermen have^now to go for supplies to Cooper's Inlet. A punt was taken through the bush, a distance of five' miles, by Porto Bello, and the fish are transported overland to M f Andrew's jetty and forwarded by the Peninsula steamer. " '
