On Saturday nighb another meeting was held at Mr Waite's Royal Mail Hotel, when moat of the miners in the district were present, and ihe following resolutions were passed, 'Dr .Siclar beiug chairman. Ist. Proposed by Mr. Fisher, seconded by Mr Francifl— " That, His Honor the Superintendent be requested to send a mining surveyor here to report of the district in general." 2nd. Proposed by Wm. Dore, seconded by Jaß, Gresham— " That a number of miners ' be appointed to form a committee to acquaint the Mining Surveyor with their wautp, &o." ' 3rd. Proposed by Mr Francis, seconded by Mr. Anderson— " That the Mining Surveyor's attention be called to the following subjects : — 1. As to the possibility of bringing water nearer to this place to enable us to use water .power for quarts and alluvial working. 2. That a special survey be made of several of the leadhg spurs here, and the best way of working them." 4th. Proposed by Mr Greaham, seconded by Mr M'Donald— " That the Government be asked to assist the miners to prospect this district in deep sinking particularly."' „; sth. Proposed by Mr Francis, tefionded by Mr Fisher—" That in the event of His Honor not coming up here, some gentlemen- may be appointed to wait upon him in Duaedin, to present him with the address.

The township to-day was visited with a very severe snow storm, but no damage waa done except the tent of one party, a a honest, hardworking washerwoman, which was demolished. However, Mr Fisher and one of our bskers set to work and boou rigged it up again. Everything is very dull here.
