Auoosr 25, 1363. Tho tl ird and moat important saries of sales for this year, wlncu commenced on the 16th of July, closed on the 21&t of August. Tiie quantities compii ed m catalogues were :- -Australian, 27,011 tales ; Port Phillip, 32,883 baies ; Vau Dieincn's Land, Bj3G bales; Adelaide, 14,4:25 bales; Swan llivor, 20-5 bales; J\ r ew Zealand, 12,700 bales; Cape, 10G76 bales; total, 106,433 baks. The opening sale \vas attended by all the leading buyers, both home and foreign, and prices were quoted fully up to ths highest range of the May series. «For the first fortnight; the uniformity of piices was remarkable, but the serious aspect of the Polish question caused some little flatness, aid for a few da} s prices ruled a shade in favor of buyer- ; but the gloiious weather for harvest imparted confid-nce to our buyers, who bought very freely to the close, causing, with the reueutd confidence "on thepa.it of foreigu operators, a strong market with rather lugiur rates. The sales closed with much spirit at rates fuiiy equal to the highest portion of the sales. RANGE OF PRICES FOR AUGUST SALES.
