A General Meeting of the members of the Otago Jockey Club took place on Tuesday evening at the Commercial Hotel, when the new rules for the guidance of the Club were read and adopted. The following gentlemen were elected to serve on the Committee for the ensuing year — Messrs. Logic, Maclean, Drher, Morley, Switzer, Wentworth, C. Jb\ Black, Noble, Cooper, E. A. It was the opinion of the Club "that hotel keepers .should not be elected as ufficc bearers, ns from their position, they would be likely to become contractors for booths, stands, &c,," after which an unanimous vote of thanks was passed to S. Jones, Esq., for his services as Treasurer to the present time. — Communicated.

It was proposed and carried unanimously :—: — "That Mr. Samuel Waldock be disqualified from running, riding, or training any horse on the Dunedin Race Course, or any course on which the Otago Jockey Club may in future hold their meetings, during the pleasure of the Club, in consequence of his having falsely entered a bay gelding nairfed Falcon, at the last Duuedin Kaces, as a maiden, the same horse having previously won races."
