Drunkenness. — George Ferris, John Barr, and James Elliot were each fined 203. for being dr^mk. Stabbimg. — Joseph Whoeldon was charged with stabbing Edward Johnson. Owing to the wounded man being so severely hurt as to prevent his appearing in Court, the prisoner was remanded for seven days. Nuisances.— Information for nuisances a^inst Allan k Burke, George Crowhurst, Alex. McNeil, Joseph Dyson, Wm. Lyons, and James Mills, were dismissed, the nuisances being abated. Similar informations against J. Grey & Co., and Syduey James were dismissed, the nuisances complained of not being on their premises. John Switzer wns fined ss. and costs for a nuisance. Two cases against S. E.R. Jones were postponed until Tuesday. Summonses for a similar offence were ordered to be issued again Geo Rogers, of the Otago Club, and M'Neil& Buckley Breaches of Licensing Ordinance.— An information against Charlotte Dawson, for neglecting to keep the lamp above the door of her licensed house burning during the nightj was withdrawn. A similar charge against Wm. Laing was dismissed. Forfeiture of. RECoaNizAtfCES.— The recognizances of Wm. Grosvenor Best were ordered to be estreated, in consequence of his not appearing to answer a charge (remitted from Tuapeka) of uttering ! two valueless cheques fer the sum of £10 each.
