DUNEDIN JETTY DUES. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that I, the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the " Jetties and Wharves Ordinance, 1858," do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, give notice that on and after the JPIRST DAY OF NOVEM-BER-1861, the following and no other Tolls, Dues, and Yjfharfages shall be levied for the use of the Dunedin Jetty, viz. : — On Sawn Timber — 2d. per 100 feet On Shingles — 2d. per 1000 On Firewood — 6d. per cord On all other goods — Is. 3d. per ton. All Jetty Dues shall be paid by the master or person in charge of each ship, vessel, or boat, before loading or unloading cargo, as the case may be. All dues payable upon goods other than sawn timber, shingles, or firewood, shall be charged, upon the vessel carrying the same, at the rate of Is. 3tl. per ton upon her registered tonnage : provided always that in the event of any vessel not having cargo amounting to one-half of her registered tonnaye, s-uch dues may be charged, at the discretion of the Jetty Keeper, upon the actual quantity of goods she may have on board at the time of her arrival at the Jetty, or before her departure therefrom in the case of loading. In addition to the above charges, all vessels shall pay at the rate of 3d. per registered ton pcr 1 diem for each working day or part of a day they shall lay alongside the Jetty ; and in the event of any vessel being alongside more than nine days, the rate shall be doubled on and after the tenth day. Goods left on the Jetty or its approaches for more than 24 hours, shall be charged, in addition to the rates before mentioned, at the rate of Is. per ton per diem for every working"day or part of a day they may be so left. Sawn timber, firewood, or shingles, landed on the Timber Stage, and not removed witbm.one week, shall, in addition to the rates before, mentioned, be subject to a charge of 3d. per 100 superficial feet timber, 2d. per 1000 shingles, Gd. per cord of firewood, for every day beyond such week they shall so remain. JETTY SHED. ,^ Goods shall be charged in advance at 'the rate of 6d. per ton per day for each working day or part of a day the same may be in the Shed. The offices in the Shed shall be let by the calendar month, and the rent paid in advance. , GENERAL. Any person refusing or delaying to pay, or attempting in any way to evade the payment of any of the above Tolls, Dues, and Wharfages, shall be charged double the said rates. .j J.
