By his Excellency Colonel Thomas G/orb Browne, Companion of the most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chiet in and over her Majesty's Colony of New Zealnnd and its Dependencies, and Vice- Admiral of the same, &c, &c, &c. IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority for this purpose vested in me by (tie "Customs Regulation Act, 1858," I, Thomas Gore Browne, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of , tb,e said Colony, do hereby proclaim and declare that all Cattle and parts of Cattle are from and after the date hereof prohibited from being imported into the Colony, unless and until the person desirous of importing any Cftltle or parts of Cattle shall procure and prodxicQ to the Chief Officer of Customs of the Pp^t at which the same are to be imported a certificate under the hand of some person to be appointed and authorised in this behalf by the Commissioner of Customs or by a Super- j intendent for any Port within the Province of which be is Superintendent to the effect. that he has examined such Cattle or parts of Cattle and that they are respectively clean and free from "the disease called Pleuro Pneumonia, or from any infectious or contagious distemper or disease.
