By his Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, Companion of the most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chiet in and over her Majesty's Colony of New Zealnnd and its Dependencies, and Vice- Admiral of the same, &C, &c, &c. IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority for this purpose vested in me by the "Customs Regulation Act, 1858," I, Thomas Gore Browne, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, do hereby proclaim and de(dare that all' Cattle and parts of -Cattle are from and after the date hereof prohibited from being imported into, the Colony, unless and until the person desirous of importing any Cattle or pa¥ts of Cattle shall procure and produce to the Chief Officer of Customs of the Port at which the same are to be imported a certificate under, the hand of some person to .be appointed ancf authorised in this behalf by the Commissioner ,of Customs or by a Superintendent for any Port within the Province of which he is Superintendent to the effect that h^e has examined such Cattle or parts. of Cattle a.nd that they are respectively clean and free from the disease called, Pleuro Pneumonia, or ffom any infectious" or contagious distemper or disease.
