May 28.— The Wellington schooner anchored at 11, a.m., put in for water and provisions, and bourid from Timaru to Lyttettari* The Geelong passed up at 4, p.m. May 29. — The Eliza Cosmopolite, Nasarene, Active, and Maori, all outward bound, are still detained by the north-east gale prevailing for the last 12days. Messrs. Shaw, Sayill, & Co. have despatched the Velore and the Glenshee, under' the flag of the' Passengers Line of packets. The former ship sailed ■ direct for Otago, with a full cargo> and about thirty passengers in the chief and second cabins. . The Glenshee sailed for Nelson with a valuable cargo, including an iron lighthouse, to be erected on the 'Boulder Bank.

She has been constructed to carry 40 guns, 34 of which are to be placed on the lower and six on tho upper dock. It is supposed that the vessel will be mounted with 68-pounder long range guns, but it is probable that ultimately Armstrong 100-poundcrs or rifled guns will be introduced. About 213 feet of each side of the vessel is rendered invulnerable to ahos or shell by armotir plates of wroUght'.iron', from 15 to 16 feet long, 3 to 4 broad, and 4| inches thick, each averaging upwards of 4 ton's.'?- i - . .
