NOTICE To Solders of Licenses for Cutting, Rawing, and Removing Timber ; from Crown Lands. /COMPLAINTS having been made to me y~J that various License Holders having been waatefully using the timber on Crown Lands, attention is drawn to the following Regulations adopted by the Waste Land Board, at a Meeting held at Dunedin the 14th day of June, 1859 :■— That Licenses for which One Pound (£1) is 1 ohftrged shall entitle the license-holder, to cut and remove firewood for his own use only. That Two Pounds and Ten Shillings (£2 10s.) be charged for a license to split for fencing. That Fiva Pounds (£5) be charged for a license %9 MWi and that only one pair of sawyers be emIloyed ; that the names of the sawyers employed • stated by the applicant, and that any change oi th* persons employed be made only with the sanction of the Waste Land Board. That Fnr« Pounds (4!5) be charged for any HetßK when the parties are cutting timber for sale. That all persons applying for license define distinctly the bushes within which they desire to «it. That license-holders shall not be entitled to use timber nt for sawing for the purposes of splitting f«r fencing or for. firewood, except in such cases as tlit Board shall give a special permission to be stated on the license. . That license-holders, unless for a denned portion of a bush, shall not be allowed to fell timber •nd claim aright to the, same unless such timber shall t>« out up and removed within three month from th* time- of felling.
