San Francisco intelligence is to 1 4th May. The discovery of new diggings at PlacervHle, on the road to Genoa, was creating great excitement. Dr. Baker, of San Francisco, had returned from the diggings bringing some beautiful specimens of coarse gold. He says there are three ravines of considerable extent, known to prospect well. About two hundred persons; had left to prospect. Another account says :— Companies are being organized, and^ leaving for the new diggings, and parties iff waggons, on horseback, and a-foot, have been, passing through Hacerville in rapid succession.
