SEALED TENDERS will be received at this Office, on or before THURSDAY, the Ist day of September nest, from parties' willing to CARRY MAILS OVERLAND, between the Clutha Ferry House and Invercargill, Fortnightly ) for Six Months, from the Ist day of October, 1859, and for such further period as the Postmaster may see fit to continue the Contract ; either party having power to determine the same at, or at any period after the expiry of the first six months ; three Calendar month's notice of the same in writing having been previously given. Sufficient security will be required for'the due fulfilment of the Contract. The Tenders to be made at per annum. The Government will not be bound to accept the lowest Tender.
