ANNUAL REGISTRATION OF DOGS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Registration of Dogs, for the Province of Otago, commenced on the Ist day of April last. The Ordinance, inter alia, provides : — 1. That the owner, whether Native or European, of any Dog or Dogs, six months old or upwards, shall annually, on Ist April, Register the same in a Book to be kept for that purpose by the Clerk to the Bench. 2. For the Registration of every such Dog a Fee of 10s. shall he paid yearly to the Clerk to the Bench, who in return shall supply to each individual so Registering a Registration Ticket. 3. Any person refusing to exhibit such Registration Ticket is liable in a penalty of £5. 4. Any person maintaining or having in his following any Dog of the age above-mentioned, Unregistered for three months after said Ist April shall be liable in a fine of not less than £1, nor more than £5. 5. THREE months having now elapsed from the commencement of Registration of Dogs for the current year, the provisions of Clause 6 of the Dog Nuisance Ordinance, which empowers the Magistrates to impose a Fme not exceeding £5 upon the Owners of Unregistered Dogs, now comes into operation.
