STATEMENT OF INCOME AND EXPENDITURE FOR THE
YEAR, ENDED 30TH NOVEMBER- 1858.

EXPENDITURE.
East Taieri Road Boakd. — A special meeting of the East Taieri District Board of Road Trustees'was held in the school-house on the 4th instant. Present — Messrs. Andrew Todd, A. J. Burns, Cornelius Todd, and W. Stevens,on. The special rate* proposed to be levied for roads and bridges in district No. 1 was again brought under consideration, when, in consequence of the General Road Board having refused on two separate occasions to sanction the said rate on account of the extent of the locality proposed to be rated, the meeting, after some discussion, resolved to curtail considerably the district to be assessed. We understand that the district will now extend little, if anything, beyond that in which a former special rate was collected.
