PUBLIC WORKS.
RESOLUTIONS to be Proposed in the Provincial Council 1. That it will tend to ensure the proper construction of Public Works* and the economical application of the Public Funds to their construction, if such Works be executed in a systematic and skilful manner. ii. That for this end all Public Works shall be executed in conformity with plans to he prepared by the Chief Surveyor and Civil Engineer, and approved by the Government, and also in conformity with such principles or recommendations as may be stated or given by him, and so approved, before v\ orks are commenced, or during their progress. 'o That all sums appropriated for Public Works by the Provincial Council shall be held to have been appropriated upon the 'terms of the forepoinff Resolutions, to which it shall be the duty of the Government to see that due < i fiec*t v-, given in all cases.
