The Daily Neivs remarks that for these two acts on the part of Russia there is said to be little doubt that we are in a great measure indebted to the prompt determination of Lord Palmerston to send an English squadron to the Island of Serpents, and his declaration that the squadron should remain in the Black Sea till every mile of the Turkish territory was evacuated by the Russians.
