WASTE LAND BOARD.
The Waste Land Board met on the Bth and 9th instant. Present — Messrs. M'Glashan, Reynolds, and Proudfoot. Several cases of disputes as to the boundaries of Runs were heard, which the Board declined to decide until a Trigonometrical survey of the country had been effected. The Board would recommend to the Government to make such a survey, and advised the various Runholders to agree amongst themselves as to their boundaries; but failing their being able so to agree, the Board would decide in the matter if the parties would make such surveys at their own expense, employing for that I purpose a surveyor to be approved by the Board. Several applications for extension of the time allowed for the stocking of Runs were considered. The Board granted the whole of the applications upon the understanding that in every case where the original application had been made prior to the passing of the present Land Regulations, the parties should give the guarantee of intention to stock the Run, required by the Land Regulations, by depositing £20. The Board was otherwise chiefly engaged with routine business of no general interest.
