Vti{Lyttleton Times, June7ih,) hear that th 3 "Gratitude," Capt. Rogers, Uence the 12th ult., for Otago and the Bluff, with passengers, put into Akaroa on Saturday night last. The captain reported having been driven by southerly weather as fdi north as Cape Pdlliser, and that he haJ not been abie to get further south than Thnaru. When off this p*rt of the coast, southerly weather agirn set in, and compelled him to run into Akaroa. Fresh provisions having been taken on board, the Captain intended to sail for Otigo on Wednesday last. Passengers and crew were all well. We have it upon good authority that wheat hence per " Mountain Maid" which was bought in Port Cooper at 6s. 6:1. per bushel, was so d m Akaroa at 83. per bushel. Very little wheat has been grown there this season. Timber is to he purchased there for cash, at fio* 13s. to 15s. per 100 feet. Shingles about 15s. per 1,000. Firewood, delivered at high water mcuK, 10s. per cord. Cheese was from dh to 10^d. per Ib. and Butter fiom lod. to 18d., but the supply of the iatrer »vere very limited.
