Now, therefore, I, the said Alfred Chetham Strode, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Town of Port Chalmers District, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the Town of Port Chalmers District will be holden at the Building known as the Custom-house, at Port Chalmers, on Saturday the eighth day of December proximo, at Twelve o'clock, noon, for the purpose of nominating One person to serve as Member of the Provincial Council for the Town of Port Chalmers District ; and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such polling shall take place on Saturday the eighth day of December j proximo, at the Building known as the Custom-house at Port Chalmers aforesaid, the voting to commence immediately after the conclusion of the nomination, and to close at four o'clock in the afternoon of the said day.
