SOUTH AUSTRALIA,
Intelligence from Adelaide to the 25th May states that the new Governor had not arrived up to that date. The colony had been favoured with a pretty copious amount of rain, in consequence of which agricultural operations would be considerably facilitated. There was little doing in the wheat and flour market, as the high prices had stopped the export trade, and the millers could not get wheat to grind. They would not give above 17s. 9d. per bushel, but there was a very scanty supply ; for seed, 20s. per bushel was asked and given. Flour £42 to £45. Oats 7s. Potatoes £22.
