WELLINGTON.
His Excellency Sir George Grey, accompanied by his Excellency Lieutenant-Colonel Wynyard, left Wellington yesterday in the Government brig for Lyttelton. — Spectator, March 17.
The "Titan" arrived on Saturday from Otago with Mr. Justice Stephen, who will be Judge in the Southern Province in the place of Mr. Justice Chapman. — Ibid.
On Saturday last his Honour Mr. Justice Chapman and family left Wellington in the " Munford," for Hohart Town, having vacated his office as Judge of the Supreme Court in this*district, which he has filled during the last ten years with great ability, and accepted the office of Colonial Secretary of Van Diemen's Land, in which new career we offer him our best wishes for his success. A memorial from the members of the Mechanics' Institute was presented to him, which his Honour replied to. — Ibid.
