NEXT HUNDRED DAYS WILL BE FATEFUL
SWIFT ACTION TO SEAL HITLER’S DOOM LONDON, Dec. 12. 4 ‘ The next hundred days will be as important in the History of the world as the hundred days before Waterloo. Then Napoleon met his fate. Hitler will also meet his fate if we act bravely and swiftly,” declared Lord Strabolgi in a speech. Lord Straholgi added that the slow fighting in the mountains of Italy and the forests of the Balkans had stretched and diverted the German forces and helped the political offensive, hut the only blows that counted were bombs on German cities and an invasion of Germany from the west. M. Stalin was satisfied at Teheran on the main plan. That was what mattered most. ‘‘France is on the eve of seeing the end of her sufferings,” said General de Gaulle, in a speech at Algiers. ‘ ‘An attack against the enemy from the north, east and west is being prepared. The camp of liberty has not yet reached the end of its hardships, and France knows how long and hard she will have to work and fight to rebuild her strength in victory.” The Moscow radio, broadcasting to German women, declared: ‘‘The decisions taken at Teheran will be implemented soon. The overwhelming might of the United Nations will strike against Germany. Thousands upon thousands of you will become -widows and many more will never see your sons again, just because of that madman, Hitler. It is your duty to save your husbands and sons from that terrible slaughter—get rid of that maniac.”
The Moscow radio also broadcast a Lutheran Church service to Germany in which the preacher urged the Germans to start a holy war against Hitler. The preacher said: ‘‘Hitler is sending to their death millions of our children and causing the death of many more millions of German women and men. This is the evil power which is driving Germany to her doom and preventing her salvation. It is our duty to fight this power for the salvation of the Fatherland. The struggle against Hitler is a holy war.”
