WELLINGTON, March 30. The Prime Minister (lit. Hon. M. .1. Savage) announced today that, to overcome the difficulty of men aged 00 who, qualifying for the age benefit, will have no income between April 1 and 23, it has been decided to provide work until April 11 for those men with no other income in that period. Tinmeans that the age benefit for April will be payable on April 23. Mr. Savage adds that there is no bar to accepting ordinary employment instead of the age benefit, or to supplementing the age benefit by the amount of allowable income.
