WANGANUI WOOL SALE.
RECESSION FAIRLY GENERAL WANGANUI, Last Night. Heavy passings for seedy and inferior lambs’ wool and a decline on the Auckland values of about one penny marked the final Wanganui wool sale of the season to-night. Fleece wool showed a decline of a farthing to a halfpenny and a similar recession was shown in prices for bellies and pieces. Good lambs’ wool was at late rates. The official report of the combined brokers states that there was an olfering of approximately 23,500 bales. All sections of the trade were represented. Good, well-skirted wools were from par to one farthing cheaper. Average crossbred showed a decline of a farthing to a halfpenny and in some cases three-farthings, as compared with recent sales. This also applies to bellies and pieces. Good lambs’ wools were about par and seedy and inferior, of which there was a big offering, were three-farthings to Id lower. Bradford were the chief buyers with the Continent operating on suitable 'ots. Other sections were quiet. The bulk of the offe ring comprised heavy condition and seedy wools. Contrary to expectations the sale showed a decided easing, especially for average to inferior wools.
