A MECHANICAL HOLIDAY.
MODERN METHODS OF CLEARING AND CULTIVATION WESTPORT, _;.' Preparations have been made on a large scale for a demonstration tomorrow by modern machinery of farm clearing and cultivation. The plant to be used includes a treedozer, an angledozer, a bulldozer, a double-drurn winch disc, a plough and clutching machine, a specially designed mole drainage machine, a specially designed geared stump-puller, a heavy duty rooter, earth borer, caterpillar Diesel tractors, portable cranes, pneumatic portable crosscut saw and a log splitter. Visitors from a very wide area are pouring into Westport. Dons. t\ C. Webb, R. Semple r.nd W. Lee Martin will represent the Government. The firm which is giving the demonstration has issued invitations to SOO people, in addition to issuing a general invitation to the public to attend. The Mayor, Mr. J. Kilkenny, has asked the business people to observe a holiday.
