UNFAIR PACKING.

OTAKI CHINESE FINED. A number of Chinese were convicted on charges of unfairly packing vegetables by Mr. W. F. Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrates' Court at Wellington on Friday. It was alleged that the cases packed by the defendants did not fairly represent in size, maturity, and condition the whole of the contents of the cases. Fines of £5 and costs were imposed upon Chong Kee Lee, of Otaki; Kee Shing of Otaki; Ah Wah, of Foxton: and Young Bing, of Te Horo. Sun Sony Lee. of Otaki; Wong Young, of Otaki; and Young Jin, of Te Horo. were each fined £2 10s and ccsts.
