MAORILAND PICTURES.
To-morrow sight Anne Pennington will be seen in "The Sunshine Man" at the Otaki Theatre. This is a big Paramount star that is sure to please picture patrons. It is a picture showing the ups and downs of life in ali their diversify, and the story of the sweet-faced little girl who is the heroine will be sure to appeal to all. On Thursday night Mary Garden (the "Remarkable," as she is termed) will figure in "The Splendid Sinner." Mary Garden is a. great decorative actress. She can give the whole spirit and atmosphere of an 'Historical costume by a mere silhouette of its lines, she can draw in the whole pyehology of a scene with one line, of her body, anil she wins the hearts of her thousands of admirers iu till her plays. Mary Garden makes her debut to Xcw Zealand audiences in this fine film. Many of the scenes of the play are highly ornate, so much so that they are said to rival the magnificence of '' The Auction Block." The picture is a very impressive one, and grips with interest . Saturday night's star film depict > Enid Bennett in "A Desert Wooing." Miss Bennett's artistry, reinforced a it is by sweet charm and irresistible magnetism, was never displayed to greater advantage than in this photoplay.
