Mr E. Newman, M.F. for Rungitikei, and Mrs Xcmmin are among the visitors at the Otaki seaside resort. Nurse Whitehorn, who is now at Bona Bay, Wellington, is making steady progress after her severe illness. Mrs Xieolson and Miss Xicolson, of Clarcville, Carterton, are on a visit to Otaki—the guests of Mr and Mrs H. »' icolson. Mr D. C. Groves, the newly-appointed manager to the Levin Municipal Gasworks, arrived from Port Chalmers yesterday to take rip his duties. Mrs Peat, who arrived by the Riverinn from Sydney, is at present visiting her mother, Mrs Ling, of Otaki, having arrived here last night. Pte. G. M. D'Ath, of Manakau, is reported as still seriously ill, but progressing favourably. Pte. T. Dc Mey, of Levin, is reported as not being a At iir- County Patriotic Association's meeting at Levin on Friday, special reference was made to the excellent work done by Mr 0. X. Stephenson, of Shannon, who had left to take up residence in Palmerston North. It was resolved to place on the minutes aa appreciation of his services, and to write thanking him for the good work he had done for the Association ever since its formation.
