It wa well known the Lindsay family wer excellent hosts and - hostesses -and, t make such remarks was like repeal ing old history. The speaker continued that it wa a usual custom to lay~ a foundatio stone and dedicate a. building whe it was first started, but, on this o< casion this item had been overlook ed and, t 0 mark the change and prt gress of. the times, they had agree to celebrate, with an opening cen inony. He had been asked partici larly to convey the thanks of' tt host to the chief, Architect ai Builder, Mr Sadlier,, - for r his goc workmanship and alsp" wished him i accept r a "gold" hammer as a.toke of remeinbrance of a good job we done. It was really too valuable i use for hammering the children, bi they all hoped he would accept tl gift with the same spirit in which was given. . - In reply, Mr Sadlier thanked Liddell for his remarks and Mr Lin say for the hammer, which, he wou treasure, but which? judging by tl weight, he was doubtful of its "gold value. He looked upon the acce tance of the gift as an hohour. Mr Lindsay also thanked Mr Li dell for his kindly remarlis and, everyone had enjoyed themselves, M "Lindsay^ and- he had enjoyed the company.
