Midwives^ Registration Board wrotei stating that it was necessary for matronsvof Lospitals to hold a nurses' and imaternity certificate.; Rejports have been received that m some cases where'; public hospital maternity ' annexes are under the control of. a matron who has no maternity certificate,' the training of pupil maternity nurses has; not been altogether ; satisfactory. The Registration. Board considers that this difficulty should cease, and have therefore decided that after Ist July, 1933, it will not .approve of the appointment of atny person to the position of matron of a hospital unless such person is registered as a .nurse and materv nity nurse., '-... y ! y";
