The winners oi each event and riders were: Hunters Hurdles, Parramatta (Agnew) Ist Terry 2nd. Hack Race, Royal bhel (Cox) Ist, Rubyl 2nd. Hunt Clut Steeplechase, Silver Ring (Mr Menamin) ls.t, Wee Macguire 2nd. Sis furlongs Hack Race, -Little' Bob (Church) Ist, Seaside 2nd, Royal Shell 3rd. Ladies,', Bracelet, Parramatta (Agnew) Ist, Kotokoto 2nd Rubyl 3rd. Mile Hack Race, Little Bob (Church). Ist Sunshine 2nd, Cowboy 3rd. Maiden Steeplechase. Taipo (W. Taylor) Ist, Waiau 2nd. On Wednesday, 10th October, 1906 the Otautau Gun Club fired off a 12---bird match for a prize donated by Mr A. McGavock, the winners being Kendall Ist, Boyd 2nd and Ward 3rd. In the issue of 16th October, 1906, appears a "local", indicating the Edendale factory had dispose^ of its season's ,output' at 6 3/16 d pei lb. The "previous year (1905) this factory manufactured 487 tons of cheese. Mr- A. M. S'whan,"- Chairman of the Otautau Town Board, .opened the Presbyterian Ladies? Guild Sale ot <Wb*k. -on Friday, 12th October, 1906, at which .£IOO was netted. Those m charge of stalls were—' Plain stall, Mesdames John Swap- and E v d Henderson; Fancy Stall, Mes r - dames T. H. Cupples, S. J. Collie and Miss Matheson; Sweets Stall, Misses Campbell and Saunders ; Xmas Tree, Misses Agnes Swap and Grace Fisher; Bran Tub, Misses Cozens and Gibbon; Tearooms,' Mesdames Donnan and Scatter; Produce, Mr Henry Gould. In 'the. evening, the OtautaV Brass- Band assisted with musical "items, a trio was sung by Miss Gould, Messrs J. Kidd and H. Gould and a pianoforte duet byMesiames 'McLaren and Walton. Messrs *l. H. Officer and Wm. Buick assisted is doorkeepers, while Mr'Jno. Fisher aaoved the vote of thanks to all who assisted.

The Otautau Dairy Factory opened on 19th October, 1906, offering lOJd per lb. butterfat to_ shareholders and 10d per. lb. to the non-shareholders. At a meeting of the Wallace A.^and P. In the islsue of >sth November, 1906, the following "local" appears: "On Friday afternoon the children of the Otautau Presbyterian Church, who had competed m the Assembly's examinations, journeyed to Invercargill,in ( Mr Agnew's 5-horse drag to attend ,the- demonstration of Sunday School Scholars and receive their prizes. Several teachers accompanied them and all wer c entertained to tea m the First Church Hall on arrival. There was a large gathering; of pupils and friends,, and a capital musical programme was /gone through m which the Otautau representatives took a creditable parfc.-4[Thii was a great trip, as the '.writer well remembers, being one ofi J;he boy" contingent acting- as passengers.] The annual meeting of the Otautau Hack Racing Club on pOth October, 1906, was presided over by Mr Wm.
