Chieftain H. Laing (chairman), Mesdames Ireland, McLeod, Muir, Maxwell, Liddeli, Brooker, Thomson, Templetonj Duncan, Miss Low, and Messrs Fisher, Coulter, Thomson, Muir, McLeod and' J. Campbell.. An apology for absence was accepted from Chief McCrostie. Before proceeding, the Chieftain referred to the death of Mrs D. McGregor, . who had been a valued member of the Society for many years. He moved a motion of' condolence, which was carried . in the usual manner, the Secretary being requested to write a letter of sympathy to Mr McGregor and, family. The Chairman . indicated the sendoff social last month had' proved a most enjoyable function.. • ' The secretary reported there were 40 extra members already this year as against the previous year. It was resolved to hold a "Burns" night in the Town Hall on Wednesday, 24th February, to take the form of a Concert and Dance. Mr • W.Woods -..- and --party,- from Invercargill, will be present to provide the greater part of the programme. Members' admission 6d, and non-members, 1/6. "Mr W. R. Ronald, Secretary, Invercargill St. Andrew's Society wrote in regard! to the intended visit of the Otautau members ...to InyercargiU on 16th March.— lt was resolved" tp provide the programme on similar lines to the Wyndham evening, full arrangements /to We left to (the Chiefand Secretary to finalise.
