NIGHTCAPS NOTES.
On Friday night the Boy Scouts, under Scoutmaster Phelan, journeyed f to Opio to spend the week-end camp- s ing. On Saturday, District Cub Commissioner Wilson, Scoutmaster t Woodfield and two scouts from Inver- c cargill visited the camp. Saturday " was spent with the usual Scout rou- v tine and, on Sunday, the camp held I a visiting day. Quite a number of people availed themselves of the \ opportunity to see the camp and the \ scouts saw to it that they were well entertained. I On Saturday, a rink of lady s bowlers, comprising Mrs Excell,' Mrs Sheddan, Mrs. Cochrane and Mrs-1 Carrick, journeyed to Winton to test themselves against a. rink from the t Te-:Rangi Vlnvercargill) Club. The local ladies, were, ./successful to the t tune of 24-11. "...-••■"■.' ( TOWN BOARD. A meeting of the Nightcaps Town' 1 Board was held m the Board Room J on Monday, 14th, at 7 p.m. Those present were ;W. Excell (chairman), ' F. Boyle, T.y Thompson, A. Prende- ■ ville and C. It was decided to call tenders for the clearing of the section on the corners of Dryfe and Wampray St. - Matters dealing with alterations m the projecting room for the Town Hall Pictures referred to the Works Committee. The surfaceman's report . was accepted and approved. It was decided to appoint Mr Lawton dog-tax collector"- as usual. The Balance Sheets for the years 1928-29, 1929-30 were received from the Auditor's Office and found to be ' correct. Picture accounts £92 ,2s lOd ana General Account £135 Is were passed for payment. • V Several motions were passed in'conhection with' the 'finalising of the picture and yheating- loan and the Gazette notice received. .< The Main Highways advised that : the estimate had been spent and asker for a f urther estimate for the rest of the year.— lt was decided .to ' ask for .a further grant of £30.
