A search was organised, and the child was found early on Tuesday, m * clearing m the bush, none the worse for the adventure. The mother thought that, she had made over towards the bush where her father, Dick Thomas, was felling bush. "As soon as it became -known, at about b p.m.> that the little girl. was missing, the residents pf Waihoaka turned out and made a thorough search of the creeks and . gullies with no success. Later a number of carloads of'searchers arrived fom Orepuki and Tuatapere and assisted m searching the farm t - which is very rough country. In all there were between 70 and 8U people engaged m the search, which continued all night with lamps and torches. The little girl was found ly John Shaw at 6.30 next morning. She was hungry, I ut 'appeared to be none the worse for her outing. Thb parents and the police are most grateful to the willing band of helpers who came and assisted m the search, and desire to express their appreciation to all those who. assisted. \ , .
