OTAUTAU TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting- held m the Board Room on Thursday, was attended by Messrs \V. J. Wesney {Chairman), A/ Chisholm, H. L. Chandler, W. A. E. H. Fraser and E. Harrington. The Works Committee reported that Mr Perriam had been secured to grade *O«ecn| Street- and the work would be clone shortly. They also recommended that maintenance gravelling- be continued and several more ; streets attended to. The foreman reported the work done' during' the month had principally been \~ maintenance .gravelling- when the weather permitteod. 173 yards had, been carted by the hired teaim and 53, yards by thoe Assistant Surfaceman's team. SO yards were still required to , finish Knutsford . Road. Clitheroe Street maintenance had had to be left over till the drier weather. Report received, further maintenance to be put on Knutsford, Clitheroe, Ellies, Grey, Chester and King- Streets and tho finer gravel to be placed on some o c the footpaths. Tho Chairman reported that an eijeT*i7crt had advised m regard to' the 1 Soldiers' Memorial that the pillars -were best left alone. They were all off the plumb because of settliug.
