' Use a layer of tissue paper when machining fragile materials, putting between the needle ana the work. It can be torn away afterwards, and m the meantime will keep the fabric from puckering. When you run a curtain rod througn a net or muslin curtain, give its end a cap 'of folded tissue paper, and it will open up the^hem without catching v or tearing. * - :
