The 2^ Annual) Meeting of' Shareholders .was held m the Public Hall,

Druinmond, on Friday evening", Mr \V Young- presiding. The annual report which has been published was adopted. The pay-out for the season was 1/7-1-per lb. butterfat after making provision for depreciation, £352 12/7 m reduction of bank overdraft. ,' The chairman m his . opening remarks stated there had- been a slight falling off m supply, the output having fallen by 8£ tons. The chairman drew attention to the low average test and the high percentage of milk required to produce 1 pound of cheese. Mr Young thought these figures were worthy of investigation. The chairman also strongly urged the suppliers to. go m" for herd testing and eliminate the "boarder" cow. A short discussion took place on the cost of production. Messrs David Jones, John Spratt, and W. E. Lindsay, the retiring directors, were re-elected and- Mr F. A. Webb was re-appointed as Auditor. After a short discussion on the trouble farmers experienced owing to sterility m cows and mammitis the following resolution was passed: "That this meeting : of suppliers views with alarm the slow progress being made by the Government 'Research Department m tracing the cause of sterility and mammitis and affording farmers -some measure of protection against these scourges of the dairy industry." A discussion took place on the remit from the Factory Managers Union . that milk for cheese making be graded by- the Methleyne Blue Test and paid for on such grade. .
