OHAI RAILWAY BOARD.
The monthly meeting-, held m the Board Room, Wairio, on Wednesday, 16th January, 1929, was presided ovei by Mr D. D. Macdonald, and thcrt were present : Messrs W. Crawford. W. J. A. McGregor, G. S. Edie, T\ Fraser, L. S. Ed'monJ, Geo. Davis andl R. N. Robertson. An apology was accepted from M> W. Excell. The General Manager, Engineo and Traffic Manager were also m at tendance.It was resolved that tenders bi called for earthwork on five portion: of Section 6 oi ; the Ohai-Birchwooc. Railway, and that same be considerec at next meeting of the Board ._ The Auditor-General advised th Board woiild have to apply for valid ating legislation for an unauthom-et expenditure of ,£lO 10/-. W. Y. Bayne, Birchwood, wrote complaining of trespassers with dogs, guns, etc., coming down the railway being- erected through his property and interfering* with stock.— Notice; to be erected notifying that person:, found trespassing on the raillway line will be prosecuted. Messrs Thomson and Baird advisee: experiencing hard rock m the bigges proportion of the excavation of theii contract, necessWating the use of i. great , quantity of blasting material, and asked that the Board assist witl payment for this material! — To bt held m abeyance till contract is finished.
