Waimatuku River Board.

The usual meeting of the Waimatuku River Board, held m Invercargill last Tuesday, was attended by all members excepting Mr Sim. Mr Keddell, Engineer, reported upon the progress of the work to the I»vercafg\ll-Riverton bridge, and indicated the extra material removed by the contractor. — Mr Keddell was directed to confer with Mi- Guise regarding settlement for the extra quantity of material handled — The Board resolved that Mr Guise will be considered to have completed his contract when the quantities set out iin the original plans and specifications have been excavated, and that the balance of the job be finished on salary. The Clerk was directed to write the Riverton Harbour Board for a supply of marram grass plants. The Clerk reported completion of loan from Public Trust Office, and receipt of first instalment of L2OOO. .Mr Lindsay gave notice of intention to move at next meeting to strike the .following rates : Grade 1, three farthings ; Giv.de 2, live-eighths of a penny ; and Qrade % one-farthing. Accounts amounting to L23G 15s lid we're passed for payment.
