Shipments of Meat from South America.
-The New Zealand Meat Producers Board now has an Agent m South America from whom it will receive regular information. This will enable the Board to publish fortnightly communiques showing the quantity of meat shipped, by South America to the United Kingdom and the Continent of Europe or elsewhere from time to time. The shipments from South Amerioa . to the United Kingdom for the forenight,ended the 14th instant were—: • 192,252 quarters Chilled Beef, 82,821. quarters ;Frozen Beef, 40,685 parcases Mutton, 82,439 carcases Lamb, whilst the quantity shipped to the Continent af Europe during the same period totalled-- 70,582 quarters Frozen Beef and 18,889 carcases Mutton. : The killings for the last si* months represent an increase compared with the previous season of 52 per cent. ; as to cattle, and a decrease of 11 per pent. as. to sheep. 1 The extent of the recent shipments to the Continent of Europe is encouraging.
