Otautau School Committee.
The ordinary meeting of the above, held iv the school last night, was attended^ by all the members. The headmaster's report showed that tho roll numher was 203, 110 boys and 95 girls. The school closed / last November with a roll number of 211. Of theso 14 have left school, and 10 have been transferred ,to other schools, while 24 now pupils have boon admitted. The dux for 1918 is Grace James, the award being based on the marks gained at the two term examinations held I during 1918. Twenty- three first-class and sixteen seaond-class certificates were gained by the pupils, which, considering the extremely broken weather and the amount of sickness prevalent, was very satisfactory. — Report adopted. Train arrangements relative to the proposed school pionic to Colac Bay were read, tho fare for adults being 5s 2d.— Members were unanimously of the opinion that ,the fare was too high, and it was decided that the pionic be held on the Recreation Ground on Wednesday, sbh Maroh; It was resolved that the dux modal be procured locally. The sum of £5 was voted for school re quisites, while £2 was granted towards the school library.
