Messrs Thomson and Georgeson are to be highly commended for the excellence of their work. i

Mr James Llyan, of " Tatarepo,"' who ha*boon one of the m regular attendants at the monthly meeting of Directors of the Wallace A. and P. Association since the inception of the Association, >vas absent from Friday's meeting owing to ill-health, and is at present located m a private hospital m Inveroargill. Everyone who is privileged to enjoy the friendship of tho genial proprietor of "Tatarepo,'' joins m the wish that ho will very soon be le.stqretl to his wonted 'vigour and strength.

The members of the Presbyterian Bibli Class, senior and junior, and members of choir and their friends were entertained by Rev. A. and Mrs Macdonald at a very pleasant social m tlie Town Hall on Friday overling, about SO losponding to tho invitation. Games were imhilged m for a lime, then a short concert pmgratnaio was gone through, after which supper was provided. Everyone thoioughly enjoyed themselves, and the utmost good fellowship prevailed, with expressions of tho thought!' illness of Mr and Mrs Macdonald m thus bringing the members togclhtr.

Seldom has Otautau been favoured with such a combination of artists as was presented m (lie Otautau Town HaU last Wednesday evening, when Iho Inveroargill Dramatic Club staged "A Noble Outcast," cr " The World Against Him," under the management of Mr A.ll. Wills, of Invercargill. The company was greeted by an appreciative and enthusiastic audience, the building being packed to the doors. The play was staged m. lavish manner, the scenes m the opening and closing acts being vory pretty, general satisfaction being expressed with the talented performers. The different scones were realistically set out, and the performers, one and all, gave a splendid representation of th§ir parts. An efficient orchestra, which rendered selections of music during the evening, accompanied '.he party. The proceeds of tho production went to the Red Cross Society, the funds of which will be augmented to some considerable extent. We venture to predict that should tho company pay a return visit, they will bo greeted with another bumper house.
