Considering the shortn ss of the notice received there was a very large meeting of Dairy Factory repiesentatives m Allen's Hall Inveroargill, on Friday last, to consider a communication from the Premier, to the eftect thtifc the Imperial Government proposed to take the whole of next season's New Zealand output of ch^eso. Factories were requested to call a meettDg of producers and appoint delfgafcea to confer with the Prime Minister next week, such dele gfites lo be endowed with full power to complete all arrangements and dispose of the entire output on such terms as the Conlerenca with the Prime Minister might determine. After a resolution by the meeting that Southland appoint three representatives leavicg the Ofcago and Canterbury provinces to nominate their own representatives, six names were submitted to the meeting and the chairman of the South Island Dairy Association, Mr T. W. Foster, (Oware), and Messrs John Fisher, (Otautau), aod H. J. Middleton, (Waimahaka), were elected. The C nf. rynce, origiually tailed for Monday. 23rd inst., has been since fixed for Thursday, 26th icsfc , and the •Srufhland delegates will leave on Monday, joining thoir colleagues as they go North. The value of the produce to be dealt with is fully five millions sterling.
