Storing Potatoes.

. + ■ A popular and economic method of storing potatoes is to make a heap of them m (he. garden. An oblong space should be formed m a suitable part ot the gnrJen, 4 loot to 15 feet m width, and covered with (> J inches of straw. Tho potatoes are then built into a heap of a ridge or coniaal shape, ! and covered thickly with cluan straw. At a foot otF the sides and ends of the heap a tremh is made, and fho soil thus xako.n out is thrown over the straw. till it covers the potatoes to a depth of about 9 inches. A wisp of straw is allowed to protrude at the top every I feet or 5 feet along tho sides to let out the moisture. Thus the potatoes will be standing on a well-drained table'and, and will be quite frost-proof. The work is neatly finished by beating the soil into an oven shape with the back of a spade.
