FOOTBALL.
It was intimated at the adjourned annual meeting of the We .tern Di* triot Sub-union held at Riverton o ■• Saturday, that Waiau Kov<_a ! cou! I not place a team in the field, and it was therefore decided to limit thi_t year's competitions to the Seniors and Schools, and to accept two teams iu the seuior competition from Otautau. The teams in the senior competition will therefore be: Nightcaps, River ton and Otautau A. and B, fot whicii fixtures were drawn up as follows :—

The following officials were elected for the ensuing year : President : Mr F. C. Mills, for the twelfth year in succession, was unanimously ra-elected. -' Vice-presidents : Messrs R. H. Bisset, r. Todd, J. Griffin, J. McFadden, A- E. Ward. .las. Gordon, __. A Liddell and H. McFeely. ' Secretary and Treasurer : Mr 0. E. Robertson, re-elected for the seventh successive year. General Committee : Messrs E. A. Tiail, P. McOubbin, A.C.Mills, R. Norrie, H. Angus, J. Clapp and H. I W. Spear. ! Selection Committee: Messrs F. 0. | Mills, A. C. Mills, E. A. Trail and 0. i JS. Robertson. Editor of Annual : Mr C. E. Robert sob. In adopting the Annual Report and Balance sheet, the latter of which showed a credit balance of £25, the s-uifaction of the delegates was expressed with same. In recognition of his services, the secretary was voted an honorarium of £5. Tbe subscription from clubs was fixed at £2 2s, as last year, but this year th* Rugby Annual will ljje issued free to the Clubs for distribution among tbeir members. The discussion in reference to a Roll of Honour was re opened. The Editor of the Annual was instructed to obtaiu from all clubs affiliated to the Sub-union since its inception, a ! full listj of members both past and present serving with the colours and insert same <_s a Roll of Honour in a prominent place in the Annual. Regarding the proposal to procure a Shield which it was suggested should be a folding!^ cabinet having on one leaf a list of the Soldier Foot- . bailers, and on the other, an appropriate design such as a soldier and a footballer, with the Royal Arms and a football, as centrepiece, and space for placing on each year silver discs with the premier team's name and the date It was resolved to adopt the proposal, the full list to be secured at the end of the season and the design then fully decided upon.
The customery vote of thanks to the chair termiuated a congenial meeting.
