$ (From Our Own Correspondent). The recent rains -have had a bene ficial effect on turnip crops and pasure. L The grass crop is about all stacked, generally the crop was much below the average, but tbe seed is of splendid quality, being heavy, clean and bnghf ( The grain harvest will be general in about two weeks. The crops are very jiubt. and the quantitv of o\ts for sale in tin* district will be the least for many years. Mr John Fahey, of Beaumont, waa united in the bonds of matrimonv to MwsDriia Caulfield, of Rakahouka,, on Wednesday, 29th January. On' | returning from their honeymoon, | which was spent in the northern / [Cities Mr and Mrs Fahey were welcomed home by tl.e residents of Beaumont on Friday evening, 7th February. AJr^ Wm Dwyer occupied the chair, and on behalf of the residents,, congratuated Mr Fahey on the step , hejiad taken, and extended to Mrs !
