Proposed Waimatuku River District.
MEETING AT* DRUMMOND.
In furtherance of the proposal to form a River District to deal with the Waimatukul Stream, a meeting was held m the Drummond Public Hall on Wednesday evening last.
The delegates appointed by the public meeting held the previous weok at Waimatuku, were m attendance. \£r A. McKenxie occupied the chair and explained what had been done so far. Mr (X Henderson riad the resolutioas which had been passed. Mr J. Fisher repeated the information given at Waimatuku as to the steps necessary to be taken to have the Board formed, and explained the powers of the Board for carrying out works and levying rates.
A general discussion followed, and various useful hints were given to the committee who have the denning of the boundaries.
On the motion of Mr Buckingham a hearty vote of thanks was accorded
the Waimatuku delegates and Mr Fisher for the information given the meeting.
No further steps can now be taken till the committee appointed to defiue the boundaries have completed their work and embodied their recommendations m a petition ior signature by the property owners interested.
