MISS McCALL, EASTERN BUSH. When it b?came known that Miss MoCall was leaving the district, oa the eve of har marriage to Mr John Thomson, Winton, her many friends felt that they could not let her leave without m some way showing their esteem for her. Sho has" lived m the district all her life, and has always willingly helped people whenever she could, so ghe leaves many friends behind ber. On Thursday evening, Maroh 28fch, a large party gathered at her homo for an evening's enjoyment. AU took advantage of the occasion io give Miss McCall some token of their regard for ber. There was quite a large collection of presents, many costly, and all useful. Few amongst thf m were : A silver teapot, cream jug and su£:u basin, clock, lamp, silver jelly and butter dishes and copper kettle. Early iv the evening all itdjourned to a large barn, | where gam.'s and dancing formed tbe evening's amusement. Music was isupplied by Messrs J. C. Scobie and D. McLaren, junr., while Mr D. McLiren, senr., made an efficient M.C. Afc intervals songs were contriouted by Messrs Mmhieson, Oraig, D, McLaren and Miss M McLaren, and a trio by Mrs J. Moir and Misses Mouat. At the conclusion of the party, Mr AJcCall, on behalf of his daughter, thanke i nil for their kindness, stating than Miss iUcCall wouid alwajs cordially wplfom- n>iv of her Eastern Bush friends[at her new home. Tje singing of "Auld Lang Syne" brought a pleasant veniDg to a i-10->e.
